The swiss army knife of routers! The ax3 is the overkill wifi router you're looking for.
The media could not be loaded. Looks beautiful, and you can mount it to the wall or ceiling, or lay it flat or vertical. The POE IN/OUT features make it so you can really use this in any scenario. Mikrotiks are the swiss army knife of routers. You can literally config everything on it. SO cool. Need to find a network loopback? Just create a DHCP client, hit apply, and wait to see the rogue router hand out a NAT, and then you got it's mac! Mikrotiks are amazing, and their wifi products have really come into their own these days. The ax2 and ax3's are worth every penny.

Prosumer performance and setup
Excellent performance but as usual with mikrotik hardware the documentation is sparse and a moving target(the update to 7.13 changed how capsman and wave2 wifi works) these are great if you're not going to get any deeper than quickset, if you're past that be prepared to spend some time digging and learning how to use it.

It's a Mikrotik.
Read up on Mikrotiks before you buy one. Infinitely configurable.

if flashing other routers with openwrt/dd-wrt has left you wanting more, then this is the router-gateway for YOU. it comes out of the box ready to haul ASS. dig into the docs, open up winbox and away u go!this router has it all. absurd range wifi, accepts dual power with the poe in and dc jack at the same time, programmable functions, ups support, 5g nr and 4g lte on usb, THE DUDE (network SNMP monitor), more vlans than u can shake a stick at, docker containers, wireguard, iptables/nftables-based firewall with some extras, 6in4... the list goes on. just look at the routeros docs and you can get a feel of the level of shenanigans this thing can get up to. they give you all the keys too with a level 6 license and a beefy quad-core 64-bit arm cpu and a gig of ram to get it all done with.ssh access? no problem, cli interface mirrors winbox perfectly. phone app? lol guess what it's winbox reskinned again. it even has a web interface with a winbox-like interface. you learn how to do something in one place you can do it anywhere anyhow you want to.the only things i wish this router had was 802.3at poe (active type, it ONLY does passive), more poe out than just the one, a sfp+ cage and maybe a 2nd usb port. would be an unstoppable juggernaut if it had a sfp+ lol, but ahh a girl can dream :pif you're the sysadmin type who's not afraid to roll up the metaphorical pant legs and get knee-deep into your networking, you'll love this thing. it doesn't hide anything or hold your hand. it WILL let you just goof it ALL up if you don't have safe mode turned on. make frequent backups!

Super configurable... no app needed!
I love that this doesn't require an app to set up and seems to allow every config option a network professional could ever need. However, the web interface seems buggy, with the recommended solution being to use a Windows program. That might be fine, but not an option for a Mac/Linux user like me.
