Acer P1173 SVGA DLP Projector, 3000 Lumens, 3D, White

The Acer P1173 DLP 3D projector is everything I wanted.I recently moved from California to Missouri and had to leave my tv behind due to space. It was that or leave my wife. When we got to Missouri we rented a duplex with an amazing wall that begged for a projector. My wife agreed to get one on the condition that the projector would cost around $300. After much research I found the P1173.We use it with a ceiling mount approximately 14' from the wall. This gives us about 104" of screen. I don't notice any "screen door" effect at this size, however if you are using composite instead of component cables you may have some difficulty reading smaller text. But most text shows clearly. I currently have a VCR, an NES, a PS2, and an Xbox 360 routed to the projector. Each one, though varying in output quality, comes across pristine on the screen. I have also at times used the VGA port and have not had any problems reading the text from the computer. The projector is very quiet. The fan on my 360 drowns out any sound produced by the fan on the projector.There is only one downside that I have found. Some of the inputs for the composite and component cables are too recessed and as such it can be difficult to plug in your sound. However, the speaker output is not the greatest so I would suggest using external speakers of some sort anyway.I have not attempted to use the 3D function as of yet so I have nothing to say regarding that.In short, the picture quality is great, all inputs work, and use external speakers.I don't think I can ever go back to a tv. The picture still looks great with minimal amount of lighting from lights being on or natural lighting from outside. Hooking the projector up is a breeze. All you need is an AUX wire or RCA jacks and you can connect it right to your surround sound system. I only have 12 feet for a throw distance and I'm getting 100 inches. I am projecting right on a wall and I purchased a Sherwin Williams Duration Satin Extra White paint for 20.00 and the picture is absolutely amazing. I could not recommend this projector enough. You can expand the HDMI to have multiple outputs by just getting a splitter. PS4 looks amazing on this thing as well. Go for it! Buy one!

great Picture quality the only downside is only one HDMI port, I need at least 3. Otherwise great product.

I bought this projector to use with a PowerPoint presentation running on a MacBook Pro with Office of Mac. The remote control will not work with that program/computer so I'm am going to return it. Otherwise, it seems to be a good projector. However, when I spent a LONG time with customer service trying to resolve the issue, it was very difficult to understand them. Apparently, the customer service is farmed out to a place where English is not the native language.

Picture quality is very good. The sound is acceptable but you can plug in external speakers if that is a problem. Works with Roku 3 and I can watch MP4 movies off a USB memory stick. It is very easy to setup and operate. For the price it is a great TV projector. I can't speak to using it with a computer because I haven't tried that and can see no reason to do so.

The projector is adequate. It has a good throw, although I have to pull it back a bit. The picture is bright, crisp and very clear. As long as it is durable and lasts a few years, I will be able to say it was a good buy.

Been trying to find a projector that was pretty portable and QUIET!!! since I am primarily using it for classroom and business presentations. So far, I love this projector!!!! It is so quiet you can barely hear it running. Good picture, good sound, and nice carrying case. And a great price point. The only drawback so far is that the remote won't work for advancing Powerpoint slides unless the projector is connected to your computer with a USB cable but that is easy to solve. I highly recommend it!
